香港，旺角，一個龍蛇混雜的地方。

旺角的街頭上總是人如潮湧，可是過了午夜，情況卻大有不同。

月黑風高下，樓閣上的霓虹像街上流鶯般發出褪色的光芒，無謂地爭艷競麗。

這兒本是一個五光十色的地方，每天晚上夜總會，按摩店等色情場所都人滿為患，可是經過金融風暴的打擊後，現在人類樓空，只剩下一片殘垣敗瓦。

人們都要節衣縮食，又那來的閒錢去風花雪月？

一名三十出頭的流鶯倚立在路邊欄杆上，抽著菸等待嫖客搭訕。 這名流鶯有一個別名叫作小燕子，取材自某電視劇女主角的名字。這位小燕子的姿色，只及女主角的半分。
